New Testament Overview for Preschool to Kindergarten
Teaching the New Testament to preschool and kindergarten students can be a challenge. It can be difficult to find engaging ways to introduce young learners to major characters and events from the Bible while building a solid foundation of biblical knowledge.
At Grapevine, we offer easy-to-prepare lessons that make learning the Bible fun and engaging for both teachers and students. Our curriculum will help you introduce your students to the people and events of the Bible in a way that captures their attention and keeps them engaged. By the end of the study, your students will be able to retell stories from the New Testament simply by looking at the pictures.
Many people assume that preschool and kindergarten students are too young to understand the Bible, which often leads to neglect of their spiritual education. However, young children can begin their faith journey at any age when they have an understanding of the Bible. As a teacher, you can help your students learn about God by showing them how He worked in the lives of those in the Bible and how He is working in their own lives.
Here’s how it works
Before class, review the teacher notes and pray with your students. Then, read the scripture to them and draw stick figures on the board. Discuss the passage, and have your students draw or trace stick figures in their books. Ask lesson review questions, learn the lesson memory verse, and focus on the skill.
Our preschool and kindergarten Bible curriculum offers 45 weekly lessons or 90 daily lessons, with a focus on introducing students to the major characters in the New Testament and teaching them the stories in chronological order. With this curriculum, you’ll have all the tools you need to confidently teach the Bible to your young students.
What you need to teach
You will need a teacher book and student book for each student. The student and traceable books contain lesson pages with space for drawing, lesson review questions, and memory verses. The traceable student book features stick figure images that students can trace.
The teacher book includes lesson notes, stick figure drawings, memory verses, and review questions and answers. Teacher book is softbound. In addition, you will need a Bible (of your choice), marker board and markers, and colored pencils for each student.
Take your students on an unforgettable stick figure journey through the New Testament and help them begin their faith journey at an early age.
